If you notice any of these signs, call Rocketman Plumbing right away. Our technicians will come out to do a thorough inspection of your property. We will locate the source of your leak, and we will handle the repairs with the least amount of disturbance to your property possible.
A slab is a thick concrete foundation layer underneath your house on which your house stands. There are water pipes either encased in or running under that slab. Over time, those pipes can corrode or get damaged. If the pipes break, the water can damage your house and foundation. If left untreated, a slab leak can also lead to mold growth in and around your house, which can impact your family’s health.
There are different ways that we can repair slab leaks depending on the severity and location of the leak. After our inspection, we will let you know which repair method will be needed and explain to you exactly how it will be done so that you know what to expect.
If the pipe is broken beneath the foundation of your home, we will have to break into the foundation to fix it. We can find the area where the broken pipe is, break into the foundation at that spot, and fix or replace the pipe.
If only a short length of pipe needs to be replaced, we may be able to reroute the pipe and lay it above ground. This is a good way to fix the leak without digging and breaking your foundation.

“I had a great experience with Rocketman Plumbing! They were recommended to me by my handyman plumber as the emergency service I required was more extensive than one person could do. The Rocketman team was professional, clean, fairly priced and made a difficult plumbing emergency as painless as possible. The office team, management, and on-site plumbers were responsive, thorough, and helpful to deal with. While I hope to never need major plumbing intervention again, I can say they have a lifelong customer that I will not hesitate to recommend to family and friends!“
“I had a plumbing emergency (leak we could not shut off) after hours, and my usual plumber was closed. The Rocketman dispatcher was very nice and assured me they could get to me next and were at my home to stop a leak within a few hours of calling. All of this was after business hours, and I am not a usual customer of theirs! They were able to stop the leak with the supplies they had. And returned promptly the next morning for a permanent fix. The fees were reasonable for emergency work. And more of the repair was done the next day at regular prices that were also reasonable. I will use them again. The plumber did a great job of communicating with me every step of the way and was very professional. Thank you so much!“
“The cold snap caused the supply pipe from under our house to one of our outdoor faucets to rupture. We had gallons of water spraying out of the pipe and no way to stop the leak without shutting off all water to our home. Lawrence, from Rocketman, came out on this 20 degree day and replaced the broken section. It wasn’t easy to access, but he did a great job at a very reasonable cost. We’ll definitely call Rocketman again!“

If your home has a slab foundation, it’s important for you to know the signs of a slab leak so you can watch out for them. A slab leak is when the plumbing pipes that run beneath your slab foundation crack or break and cause a water leak. This can lead to costly water damage if it isn’t handled. There are several signs that you might have a slab leak. Number one, water is coming up through the concrete into your house which is evidenced by the wet floor. Two, if you are running out of hot water before you are using it, this is a sign you have a hot water slab leak. Three, to determine if you have a leak, you can perform a simple test using your water meter. First, locate the water meter near the curb and open its lid. Check if the dial on the water gauge is moving. If it is, it indicates a leak. To determine if the leak is in your yard or under your slab, you can follow these steps. If you have a water shut-off valve on your property (not controlled by the city), turn off the water using that valve. Then, return to the water meter and observe the dial again. If it stops spinning after shutting off the water, it suggests a slab leak—meaning the leak is beneath your home’s concrete foundation. However, if the dial continues to move even after shutting off the water, it implies a leak in your yard rather than under the slab. If you think you have a slab leak, or aren’t sure, you can always call Rocketman Plumbing and our expert technicians will be out to your house in a flash to inspect for signs of a plumbing leak.
The surest way to prevent a slab leak is to buy an older home with a crawl space and no slab! Eventually pipes will deteriorate and cause a leak. A slab leak can cause costly water damage to your property, so it’s important to understand what you can do to prevent a slab leak from occurring. First and foremost, if you haven’t had an expert out to inspect your plumbing system in a few years, we recommend you call us. Aside from that, there are things you can do at home to keep your plumbing system in good working order. First, make sure your water pressure is not too high or too low. It should not be below about 40 PSI as this can lead to sediment buildup in your pipes; and it should not be above 80 PSI as this can damage your plumbing system. If your water pressure is too high, we can install a pressure relief valve to handle that. Second, if you live in an area with hard water, consider getting a home filtration system or using a water conditioner to soften it, as hard water can degrade pipes more quickly. If you need help with any of these steps to prevent damage to your slab foundation, give us a call at 505-243-1227 and we’ll be out to your home or business in a flash.
Whether or not your homeowner’s insurance will cover the cost to repair a slab leak really depends on your specific insurance policy and the type of damage. In most cases, homeowner’s insurance does not automatically cover slab leaks caused by normal wear and tear over time, issues like tree roots growing through your water pipes, or small water leaks that weren’t caught before they damaged the slab foundation. In general, homeowner’s insurance will cover damage caused by a singular event, such as a burst pipe, a tornado, a fire, etc. You will need to check your homeowner’s insurance policy to determine when your provider will cover slab leaks and when they won’t. If your insurance doesn’t cover slab leaks, you may want to talk to your insurance agent to see if there is a supplemental policy you can add to your plan that will cover slab leaks. With or without insurance, you can always call Rocketman Plumbing to come take care of your slab leaks in a flash. We offer fast work done right with competitive pricing, and we’ll work with you to get your slab leak repaired for you.
The answer to this question depends on who owns the property and whether or not the owner has an insurance policy that covers slab leak repairs. If you are renting a house or business, your landlord should be the one handling repairs for slab leaks and other plumbing issues as the property belongs to them. If you own the property and don’t have insurance, it will be your responsibility to cover the cost of slab leak repairs. This is why it’s a good idea to get homeowner’s insurance or commercial property insurance before you experience any problems or damage to your property. And if you own the property and you do have insurance that covers slab leak repairs, it may be entirely handled by your insurance company, or you may have to pay part of the cost while your insurance company pays the other part, depending on the type of policy you have. No matter if you are a landlord, a homeowner, or a business owner, you can call Rocketman Plumbing at 505-243-1227 to handle slab leaks and any other plumbing issues at your property. We will be there in a flash to take care of the leak and repair your slab foundation.
Even though a slab leak can be a stressful experience, it’s relatively simple for expert plumbers to fix. So if you have a slab leak at your home or business, you don’t need to be worried about how much it’s going to cost to repair. The average national cost of slab leak repair is about $3,000 depending on the size of the plumbing system, how much damage has been done to the slab foundation, and how much plumbing needs to be replaced or rerouted. If you have homeowner’s insurance or commercial property insurance, some or all of that cost may be covered by your insurance company. When you call Rocketman Plumbing for slab leak detection and repair, we will inspect your slab foundation and plumbing system to locate the source of the leak. We will then be able to give you an estimate of the cost to repair your plumbing and how much time it will take to complete the job.
