Washing Machine Backups Are Common
One of the most common things that backs up in your house is your washing machine. The reason for this is a washing machine throws more water down your drain lines faster than anything else in your house. Usually, that’s where people start noticing that they have a sewer backup problem. Now, when it backs up, sometimes it overflows behind your washing machine. Sometimes it will come up through a drain in your shower, bathtub or kitchen sink. Other times, you’ll notice because your toilets will be bubbling, gurgling, and maybe even overflowing or leaking at the bottom.
How Rocketman Can Unclog Your Washing Machine
When your washing machine drains, we can tell what we need to do to fix it depending on what else in your house is backing up. If it’s just your washing machine, everything else is draining fine, then we will need to clean out the drain line from your washing machine. Usually we need to get on your roof, but if you have a cleanout behind your washing machine, then we can handle the clog from there.
We’ll run our sewer machine down that drain all the way to the main sewer line to handle the backup. Then when we pull it out, we’ll fill up your washing machine one or two times with a full load and run it to verify that it’s draining fine.
If it happens to be that your toilet is bubbling and gurgling at the same time that the washing machine is backed up, that tells us that the problem is on the main sewer line. We handle this by cleaning the sewer line with our big machine from the cleanouts you hopefully have in your yard. Afterward, we’ll test it the same way by filling up your washing machine with a full load. We’ll also turn on all the water in your house and let everything run while we are draining the washing machine. When everything is draining great, the problem is solved.
How to Repair Low Water Pressure in Your Washing Machine
Another common problem you can have with your washing machine is a lack of water pressure. This is a problem that lots of people have that they don’t know how to fix. If your washing machine has low water pressure on either the hot or cold setting, there’s an easy way to handle that problem. Behind your washing machine, where your two hoses hook up to it, there are two screens back there. All you have to do is turn off the water to your washing machine, disconnect the hoses, pull out those screens, and wash them off. Then you can stick them back in, and that’ll get your water pressure back to where it should be so your washing machine fills up faster.
