What to Expect During a Plumbing Inspection When Selling Your Home

Today we’re going to cover what you should do when you plan on selling your home. And that is to have a thorough home plumbing inspection of all your appliances, your water lines and sewer lines.

Inspections of Sewer Lines

For the sewer lines, we can make a video recording of what condition your sewer lines are in, whether or not they have roots clogging the pipes or there are any breaks in the line. This is something a new buyer is going to want to know.

If your sewer lines are in really bad shape, you can increase the value of your home by having sewer line repair completed and showing prospective buyers that it’s been done.

Condition of Your Water Lines

Another potential problem is the condition of your water lines. If your home was built in the 50s or 60s, you need to know whether or not it has old galvanized water lines or if they’ve been replaced.

If you have a crawl space underneath your house, it’s great for home inspections because you can actually see the condition of all your water lines, all your sewer lines, and your gas lines underneath your house. These should all be examined.

Condition of Your Swamp Cooler and Other Appliances

Also, it’s good to know the condition of important appliances like:

  1. Swamp cooler
  2. Air conditioning unit
  3. Hot water heater
  4. Furnace

You should know how old these are and what condition they are in. All these appliances sell with the house and if they’re in bad shape, it might be worthwhile to go ahead and replace them. Then you can ask for more money for the sale of your home because it’s got brand new appliances.

Those are the things that you should have inspected when preparing to sell your home. If you need this kind of inspection, give Rocketman Plumbing a call at 505-243-1227 for a free estimate.
