I want to explain to you why you need a plumber if you are having your roof redone by a roofer.
If you have a flat roof, there’s a good chance you’ve got a swamp cooler up there. There’s also a good chance you have gas lines up there. Almost all roofing companies are not licensed to mess with gas. Some of them can remove a swamp cooler. If you have an HVAC unit on your roof, they probably won’t touch it.
When to Call a Plumber
If you have gas lines on your roof, an HVAC unit or even a swamp cooler, you need to talk to the roofing company before they arrive. You need to find out if they need gas lines removed, an HVAC unit removed, a compressor removed or a swamp cooler removed.
If they do, then you need to coordinate with a good plumbing company to come out the morning that they’re starting on the roof so they can get anything and everything out of the way for the roofers. We do this all the time for our customers.
Your roofers do their job. Then we can come back the same day, at the end of the day, and put everything back together so you don’t go without gas or cooling.
It’s that simple but you have to plan ahead a little bit. When you need help while redoing your roof, give us a call at (505) 243-1227.
I hope you have a nice, cool summer.
