Most people have a faucet on their kitchen sink, bathroom sink, bathtub or shower, and the shutoff valves that go to your washing machine. For most people, if something’s not broken, we don’t think about fixing it. But there are some good reasons why you should consider replacing your old faucets that I’ll cover here.

Leaking Faucets May Need an Upgrade

Let’s say you turn on your bathroom faucet and it’s leaking, or maybe it’s dripping all the time. If we come out to do a repair on that bathroom faucet that’s leaking, what we have to do lots of times is turn off your water. We take the parts out of your faucet to replace. If we have the parts, it’s an easy fix. But there are so many different kinds of faucets. Quite often, we have to go find the repair parts for that individual faucet. And from my experience, you can easily spend just as much or more money to repair an old faucet as it would take to replace it with a new one.

Old Faucets Should Be Replaced

Whenever you have any kind of faucet repair, you might want to look at it and say, “Well, I think it might be time for a new one.” If it’s a really nice, fancy, good faucet that you spent a lot of money on, of course we’ll come out and repair it. If it’s in the middle range of price, or if it’s more than 10 years old, believe me, you’re better off replacing it. And once you do, you’ll look at it and say, “Oh, I got a new faucet. It’s wonderful.” It’s just something to keep in mind when you’re calling to have someone repair any kind of faucets, it might be time to simply replace it. And in most cases, you’re better off in the long run to replace them instead of repair them.
